About Us

REELTIME’s mission is to foster a dialogue between audiences, artists and guest speakers about the issues raised by the independent films and videos we present.

Programs are developed in collaboration with diverse groups to reflect community concerns and perspectives.
REELTIME’S goals:

  1. Make alternative media accessible to the community
  2. Expose audiences to innovative films and filmmakers from the community and beyond
  3. Provide a public forum for the community to explore and discuss issues together
  4. Present programming, information, and resources that create a potential for community action
  5. Involve diverse groups in the programming to strengthen the overall fabric of the community

REELTIME presents film and videos on a wide range of topics, including people with disabilities, the artistic process, the Vietnam War, animation, Gospel music, labor, Hip Hop, substance abuse, and gay and lesbian issues. Please refer to the Reeltime Recommends Video Collection for a complete listing of the titles we have programmed that are now available for checkout at the Evanston Public Library.
