Home for Life Directed by Gordon Quinn and Gerald Temaner, Kartemquin Films (1966, 80 min.) For the past 40 years, Chicago’s Kartemquin Films (Hoop Dreams) has been the driving force behind some extraordinary documentaries. Just recently restored, their earliest film, Home for Life, offers an unblinking, yet affectionate look at the experiences of two elderly people as they spend their first month at a home for the aged.
